Matt Chafin is the proud son of a World War II Veteran and Columbus Police Officer, who taught and showed Matt the importance of public service. His father moved the family to Pickaway County in 1977 because of the character of the people who live in this county, their values, and their work ethic. As a son of Pickaway County for nearly 50 years, he knows it like the back of his hand, and loves the folks who live here.

Matt is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and dependable friend to so many. He values and appreciates family, friendships, fairness, and compassion.

As your judge, Matt will draw upon his Pickaway County upbringing, life experiences, vast legal career, conservative values and beliefs to enforce and uphold laws. He will NOT use judicial power to change or manipulate the law. 

The safety, security, and general welfare of the citizens of Pickaway County depend on judges who will serve with honesty, integrity, impartiality, and a genuine respect for the law.
